Randi Persaud Turns Corner, Makes You Wonder

April 6, 2018

Trainer Randi Persaud has never been a high percentage or high profile outfit. Going back to June of 2017 the barn was 4 for 160. On March 23rd, 2018 something clicked.

Randi went for 4 for 8 with horses paying $43, $136, $31, and $19. A runner up at 100-1 was also in the mix. Last Saturday at Aqueduct Persaud’s Chilly Bon Bon won the More to Tell Starter Stakes paying $136.00. Persaud came right back to win the next race, the Kelly Kip starter stakes with Holding Aces who paid $43.40. The $1 Daily Double came back $456.50, considerably less than the parlay and a lot less than you would think factoring in the connections.

That is not a knock on Randi Persaud by any means, just a realistic observation from a wagering perspective. Obviously something has changed in the Persaud barn. Could it be his luck, sure but I would not bet on that. Perhaps a new assistant or some new program?

I guess we will have to watch and see but in the current state there may be worse barns to take a flyer on. We’ll put this under things that make you go hmmmm.

@jonathanstettin Just saw ya on TV news FL 24. My wife Chrissy starts saying that looks just like Jonathan Stettin. Couldn't here what ya said though. It's gonna be back on. SHE WAS RIGHT THOUGH.
