May 9, 2022

ELMONT, N.Y. – Thursday’s twilight racing card at Belmont Park will feature a Pick 6 carryover of $53,679 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday.

The $1 Pick 6 returned $406.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.

The sequence kicked off in Race 4 with Jacqueline Davis piloting Vallelujah [No. 9, $24] to victory in a state-bred maiden special weight for trainer Robbie Davis. The William Morey-trained Lord Gatling [No. 5, $8.30] earned his first victory under Dylan Davis in a $40,000 maiden claiming event in Race 5.

Trainer Chad Brown continued a successful weekend with his first of two wins on the card when Flavien Prat engineered a winning ride aboard Boston Post Road [No. 13, $5.50] in Race 6, a one-turn mile allowance for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez gave trainer John Kimmel his first win of the meet in Race 7 when Secret Love [No. 2, $12.20] sprinted seven furlongs over the main track to an allowance victory.

Irad Ortiz, Jr. rode Search Results [No. 4, $9.80] to victory in Race 8, the Grade 2 Ruffian, to give trainer Brown his second win on the card. With the carryover already confirmed, Ortiz, Jr. completed the late double with another winning ride in Race 9 aboard Amount [No. 4, $6.50] in a starter allowance for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher.

Thursday’s Pick 6 sequence will begin in Race 4 at 4:40 p.m. Eastern. First post for the nine-race twilight racing card is 3:05 p.m.
