OBS graduate Texas Wedge got the New Year off to a good start, rating between horses in the early going of Santa Anita’s $202,500 Joe Hernandez Stakes (G2), closing to take the lead in the final sixteenth and scoring by three quarters of a length.  It’s the first stakes victory for the 5-year-old son of Colonel John, racing in the colors of Altamira Racing Stable, Rafter JR Ranch LLC, STD Racing Stable and A. Miller.

Now 13-5-3-2 for trainer Peter Miller, he has earned $313,530 to date. After turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5 prior to the 2017 OBS March Sale, he was purchased for $30,000 out of the Richardson Bloodstock consignment
