Cody’s Wish tops Thoroughbred Poll with Metro victory

LEXINGTON, Ky.—With his historic victory in the Belmont Stakes Blue Rose Farm’s Arcangelo vaulted to No. 2 on the NTRA’s Top 3-Year-Old Poll. The Arrogate ridgeling also catapulted trainer Jena Antonucci into uber history as the first female trainer to raise the August Belmont Trophy.
Godlphin’s Cody’s Wish and jockey Junior Alvarado performed a miracle run in the Metropolitan putting him on top of the Thoroughbred Poll for trainer Bill Mott.
Week 20 of the 2023 NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll conducted by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), covering racing performances through June 11. Voting is conducted by national media.
The Three-Year-Old poll represents horses competing up and through the Triple Crown. This is the final week for the Top Three-Year-Old Poll.
The Top Thoroughbred poll represents horses competing for Horse of the Year. The Top Thoroughbred Poll concludes on Tuesday, November 7 following the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
Rankings on poll are on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-1 basis with first place votes in parentheses, 2023 record and total points. A-S: Age-Sex, Sex: C-colt, G-gelding, H-horse, F-filly, M-mare, R-ridgling.
