There have been many successful private purchases. Country Grammer immediately comes to mind fresh off his win in The San Antonio opening day at Santa Anita. We know he already won one of the biggest races in the world as well, The 2021 Dubai World Cup for Bob Baffert under Frankie Dettori. War Emblem was a private purchase who won The Kentucky Derby as was Thunder Gulch. It works yet Jon still raises questions and concerns about the process and if it is right for everyone.
