Trainer Removed From Abel Tasman Because of Wrong Silks

March 9, 2017

Apparently, Abel Tasman, a Grade 1 winning filly who just ran second to Unique Bella, was removed from trainer Simon Callaghan due to a mixup in the silks she wore.

China Club Racing takes their ownership share seriously, and when it is time to run in their silks you better do so. Imagine if the horse had won. Callaghan may have been tarred and feathered.

Unless there is more to this one than meets the eye, or ear, all I can offer is, “Seriously?” The filly was moved to the barn of Bob Baffert.
