The Most Bet-Worthy Horse Races Around the World

May 8, 2020

Horse racing is fun, fierce, thrilling, and absolutely electrifying, the reason why it is so popular across the globe. Add to that the lure of making large amounts of cash, and it becomes one of the most bet-worthy sports competitions ever, alongside soccer and American football.

Betting on horses isn’t too complicated, made easier thanks to the online presence of several bookmakers and casinos. It is, however, essential that before placing any bets, you choose your bookie with care. It is usually advisable to pick an establishment that provides you with the maximum number of opportunities in terms of making money throughout the year.

So, choose a bookie who covers various sports, or better yet, an online casino where you can bet on sports while indulging in games like online roulette, poker, slots, and bingo, whenever you like. The trick is to have enough options on hand that you can earn an income during racing season, and also when there isn’t much going on in the sport. Once you have that settled, it is time to look at some of the most bet-worthy international races that promise you the chance to win big.

Kentucky Derby

Held in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday of May every year, the Kentucky Derby is the most anticipated horse racing competition on the planet. The length of the track is 1.25 miles and the race start and ends within two minutes, making it quite an exhilarating ride. This iconic Grade 1 race, for three-year-olds, isn’t without showbiz and tradition. One of the most memorable moments, every time, is the blanket of 564 roses that the winner gets at the end of the race. For punters, the Kentucky Derby is perfect for getting a sense of what horse racing heritage is all about. Of course, it is also the place where one can go away with life-changing wins, were they to make a wager on the winning jockey and horse.

Dubai World Cup

The Middle East is where the money is, and it is no surprise that horse racing is so huge in Dubai. Although, the Saudi Cup was recently in the news for being the “most valuable horse race ever held,” the Dubai World Cup continues to charm fans the world over. One reason for this is that the World Cup shares a lot of similarities with the Kentucky Derby. Held on the last Saturday of March, before the harsh summers begin, the race runs a course that is 1.25 miles long and like the Kentucky Derby is a dirt track. The Dubai Cup first started in 1996 and since then has only seen one dual-winner, Thunder Snow, who won in both 2018 and 2019. Punters looking to make a profit should be excited about the race’s 25th edition which will take place in 2021, and is bound to be a mega event.

The Everest

With a name like The Everest, bettors can expect big things from this horse race, held at the Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia, in October every year. Until the recent Saudi Cup, this competition for thoroughbreds was the richest horse race held on turf and attracted horses from all over the planet. An interesting aspect about The Everest is that it only takes 12 horses, and the entry fee for each is a whopping $600,000. The tournament is relatively new, having started in 2017, but has already seen a dual-winner in Redzel who won the inaugural race and then again, the following year. Australia might be on one side of the world, but thanks to online sports betting, punters can easily bet on this fantastic race, from the comforts of their homes.
