Originally from Southern California and now based in Louisville, Kentucky, Jenny Doyle is a Thoroughbred photographer and lifelong horsewoman with nearly five decades of riding experience. Since 2016, she has documented racing and the Thoroughbred industry, with her work appearing in leading equine publications and throughout the racing community.
Her photography of California Chrome was featured in Perry Martin’s book, California Chrome: Our Story, and earned Jenny her first magazine cover, feature spread and a photography award from the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. In 2025, the outfit she wore while photographing the historic 150th Kentucky Derby was added to the permanent collection of the Kentucky Derby Museum.
Jenny’s experience with horses extends well beyond photography, spanning barrel racing, hunter-jumpers, reining, Thoroughbred racehorses and eventing. That hands-on horsemanship gives her work a distinctly horse-first perspective. Today she continues to work with Thoroughbred farms, consignors, media outlets and equine organizations, capturing the horses and people behind the sport.
