Sioux Nation Colt Tops Final Day Of Tattersalls December Foal Sale

November 30, 2020

A fine colt from the first crop of Sioux Nation topped the final day of the Tattersalls December Foal Sale on Saturday when selling for 88,000gns to Alex Elliott.

The colt was sold by Barton Stud on behalf of breeder The Brigadier Partnership, which is headed by Rebecca Matthews. Barton Stud Manager Tom Blain commented “He was the stand-out foal today, we deliberately came today to sell on the Saturday to stand-out and it is a fantastic result. This was an investment by the breeders to get a bloodstock business going so this is really a great start, I am delighted for them.”

Bloodstock agent Alex Elliott said the colt had been bought for an unnamed client who could re-offer or race the youngster. He added: “To me he was the best physical here today and by a very fast horse. I love the Scat Daddy line, he is becoming a real sire of sires and Sioux Nation was a fast horse.”

Sioux Nation is a Group 1-winning juvenile by Scat Daddy, just like red-hot young sire No Nay Never and was one of Europe’s most popular new stallions in 2019. He stands at Coolmore’s Castlehyde Stud in Fermoy at a fee of €10,000.

Big score for @AmWager customers. @jonathanstettin does it again!
