ELMONT, N.Y. – Saturday’s card at Belmont Park will feature a Pick 6 carryover of $63,176 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $3,509.50 for bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
The sequence kicked off in Race 4 with Ricochet [No. 1A, $4.80] taking a $60,000 starter allowance for trainer Mike Maker with Flavien Prat in the irons.
Presque Isle Downs shipper Oxymore [No. 6, $24.60] graduated impressively at first asking under Jose Ortiz in Race 5 for owner/trainer Adam Rice before first-time starter Empire Hope [No. 3, $11.60] did the same under Flavien Prat for leading trainer Chad Brown in Race 6.
Race 7 saw the Rob Atras-trained Saint Selby [No. 3, $4.80] pick up his fourth career win under Kendrick Carmouche in a 6 1/2-furlong allowance sprint. Eric Cancel engineered a winning ride aboard Dynadrive [No. 8, $92] for conditioner Tom Morley to provide the largest upset on the card in Race 8, a 1 1/4-mile optional claiming turf test.
The Jose Camejo trainee Custom Bobby’s [No. 7, $24] took down Race 9 with Hall of Famer John Velazquez in the irons to earn his third career win in the $35,000 claimer. The 4-year-old Custom for Carlos gelding nosed out the 2-1 favorite Fast N Fearious [No. 6], who was the only horse covered in the final leg.
Saturday’s Pick 6 sequence begins in Race 5 at 3:03 p.m. Eastern and includes the Grade 3, $250,000 Dwyer in Race 8. First post is 1 p.m.
