OBS Sales Grads Weekend Wrap Up

Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC and Willis Horton Racing LLC’s Bankit circled horses on the turn to reach contention in Aqueduct’s $100,000 Alex M. Robb Stakes on Saturday, reached the lead a furlong from home and drew away from there to score by 4-3/4 lengths.  It’s the third stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by Central Banker, trained by Steve Asmussen, now 26-4-8-4 with $816,675 in earnings. Consigned to the 2018 OBS March Sale by SGV Thoroughbreds LLC (Steven Venosa), Agent, he breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5 before he was purchased by Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC for $260,000. watch his under tack video

Sackatoga Stable’s Niko’s Dream relaxed off the pace in the early going of Saturday’s $75,000 My Charmer Stakes at Gulfstream, rallied wide on the turn, took command at the eighth pole and eased away to win by a length and a half. It’s the first stakes victory for the 4-year-old daughter of Central Banker, consigned by Rebah Farm, Agent, to the 2017 OBS October Yearling Sale. Now 17-4-5-2 for trainer Barclay Tagg, she has earned $280,900 to date.

OBS graduates posted a pair of stakes win at Louisiana Champions Day at Fair Grounds on Saturday.

Xtreme Racing Stables LLC’s Sir Wellington rallied wide to take the lead after straightening away in the stretch of the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Stakes, drew clear in deep stretch and scored by two lengths. Fellow OBS graduate No Pedigree (June ’20, October ’19) checked in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old colt by Palace, purchased for $35,000 out of the Stuart Morris consignment at the 2019 OBS Selected Yearling Sale. Ivery Sisters Racing’s Monte Man waited for room after turning for home in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Sprint Stakes, moved out and took charge in mid-stretch, then drew clear late to best fellow OBS graduate Win Ya Win (April ’19, October ’18) by 2-1/2 lengths. That’s eight stakes wins for the 7-year-old gelding by Custom for Carlos, now 44-16-7-7 for trainer Ron Faucheux, with earnings of $676,423. He was sold for $125,000 by Royal Thoroughbred International at the 2015 OBS March Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. watch his under tack video
