Martin Garcia Shifts Tack to New York

November 7, 2017

Martin Garcia is leaving Southern California and the comfort of riding and exercising horses for Bob Baffert and heading to New York.

Martin told the Daily Racing Form he is looking to take his career to the next level and he felt Bob would understand.

Martin rode a lot for Bob, most recently Collected to a win in the Pacific Classic and a second in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. He did not ride for him exclusively however and Bob uses several jockeys on his horses. They split up once before but got back together. Martin has had a lot of success with Bob including a classic win on Lookin at Lucky in the Preakness.

It will be tough for him to get those types of horses in New York, but Martin Garcia can indeed ride, and we wish him the best.

YES- you turned me onto him coming out that Santa Anita race. After watching him yolk up BB horse NTO: immediately took my biggest wagers on him in the futures. Got 25-1 then the next week 20-1. Horses do have the facts.
