Legacy Swiss watchmaking brand and Official Timekeeper of the Belmont Stakes, Longines, underscores its longstanding motto of “Elegance is an Attitude” at this year’s race
BELMONT, NY (USA), June 1, 2021 – Taking place on June 5, 2021, the Belmont Stakes will celebrate its 153rd run at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. Its Official Timekeeper of the race and Official Partner Longines will be hosting a virtual Longines Prize for Elegance Fashion Contest over the weekend. In keeping true with its brand motto of “Elegance is an Attitude,” the legacy brand highlights the overall spirit of the race by encouraging equestrian and style aficionados to showcase their best Race Day attire via a social media contest. The event will be held at a reduced capacity and plans to follow safety precautions and health guidelines.
One female winner will receive an elegant timepiece from the Longines DolceVita collection. Crafted in steel and enhanced with diamonds, the awarded DolceVita piece features a silvered “flinqué” dial adorned with painted Roman numerals and an interchangeable blue strap.
The panel of judges this year includes Acacia Courtney, Horse Racing Host/Reporter/Analyst; and Brittany Garcia, Longines U.S. Brand President. They will be looking to pick out their favorite fashionable looks for the women that share their outfits via Instagram and Twitter posts using the hashtag #LonginesPrizeforElegance.
In addition to celebrating style around the country through its virtual fashion show, Longines will also award elegant watches to the winning jockeys, owners, and trainers of the Belmont Stakes race and the Longines Just a Game Stakes race.
