Heart Rhythm scores Hermitage Farm Purse

LEXINGTON, Ky.– TEC Racing’s Heart Rhythm swept past favored Prevalence at the three-sixteenths pole en route to a 1-length victory over Here Mi Song in Wednesday’s featured $140,000 Hermitage Farm Purse for 3-year-olds and up. 

Trained by John Ortiz and ridden by Rey Gutierrez, Heart Rhythm completed the 6½ furlongs over a fast track in 1:16.08.

Claimed out of his previous start at Churchill Downs by Ortiz, Heart Rhythm is a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred son of Flat Out and the Officer mare Nothing But Heart. Wednesday’s victory was worth $86,800 and increased his earnings to $380,590 with a record of 21-6-5-5.

Heart Rhythm returned $13.82, $5.94 and $3.88. Here Mi Song, ridden by Alex Achard, rallied for second and returned $3.82 and $2.88. He finished 6 lengths ahead of South Bend, who paid $3.16 to show under Luis Saez.

Prevalence and Chattalot followed next in order in the field of five.
