Lexington, KY – Gainesway has released stud fees for its 2020 stallion roster.
Leading sire Tapit, currently the #1 ranked sire in North America by Stakes Winners and Graded Stakes Winners, will stand for $200,000 in 2020.
Tapit is sire of 25 Grade 1 winners, more than any other active sire in North America, and 7 champions. At the 2019 Keeneland September Sale, Tapit was responsible for the $2.5 million Book 1 session topper.
“Tapit continues to have a tremendous impact on the breed,” said Gainesway’s Antony Beck. “We’re thrilled to watch the success of his sons at stud. Constitution and Frosted have been exceptionally well received. And we’re very happy to have several of his promising young sons standing at Gainesway in Anchor Down, Tapizar and Tapwrit.”
Empire Maker’s fee will be announced at a future date. Sire of 12 Grade 1 winners and proven sire of sires, Empire Maker will be represented in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile by the exciting Eight Rights, winner of the Grade 1 American Pharoah Stakes. Empire Maker’s 2019 Keeneland September yearlings sold up to $2 million, with a Book 1 average of $475,666.
