After purchasing Dreaming as Always (NY) in the November 2020 Keeneland Breeding Stock Sale, Circle 8 Ranch has celebrated her arrival at their 200-acre farm in Versailles, Kentucky. Dreaming as Always is currently in foal to Oscar Performance (Kitten’s Joy – Devine Actress, by Theatrical).
Oscar Performance is a four-time Gr. 1 winner — Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes, Secretariat Stakes, and the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes – with career earnings of $2,345,696. He also won the Gr. 3 Pilgrim Stakes, the Gr. 3 Pennine Ridge Stakes, the Gr. 3 Poker Stakes and holds the world record mile in 1:31.23.
Dreaming as Always had nine starts with three firsts, one second, and two thirds, and career earnings of $140,702. As a broodmare, she has produced two foals – two colts sired by More than Ready – with the first being sold as a weanling in 2018 for $175,000.
Dreaming as Always is by Multiple-Graded Stakes Winner Broken Vow (Unbridled – Wedding Vow, by Nijinsky II) – the sire of 89 stakes winners and 167 stakes horses to date. Her dam, Multiple Stakes Placed Leonor Fini (IRE) (Peintre Celebre – Friendly Finance (IRE), by Auction Ring), has produced four winners out of five starters. Her second dam, Friendly Finance (Auction Ring – River Lady, by Prince John) has seven winners out of eight starters with one Black Type Winner, one Black Type Placer and progeny earnings of $2,039,476. She is the dam of Keo Woman (race earnings: $1,413,357) who, after retiring, became a very successful broodmare with $5,205,818 in progeny earnings.
Strategically located in Versailles, Kentucky, Circle 8 Ranch is recognized by the Kentucky Horse Commission as an official Training Center. Circle 8 Ranch features three barns with a total of 36 stalls, several tack rooms, wash stalls, and office.
