October 23, 2019

A filly by Cross Traffic who is a champion first crop sire sold for $165,000 at the Fasig Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale on Tuesday. The winning bidder was Trainer Ken McPeek agent, for hip No. 784, consigned by Peter O’Callaghan’s Woods Edge Farm.

The beautiful gray or roan filly is out of Lioness Lahr, whom also produced a full brother to the subject filly. Lioness Lahr has a pair of stakes-winning siblings out of their multiple graded stakes-placed dam Damewood.

Cross Traffic was the leading First-Crop sire of 2018 and is a top-10 on this year’s Second-Crop list that should not be overlooked. Among his other runners this year are Panamanian Group 1 winner Capocostello as well as Eclipse Champ & BC Juvenile Fillies Champ Jaywalk. Cross Traffic was Unbridled Song’s second fastest racehorse ever behind Arrogate, earning a 116 Beyer. Cross Traffic will stand the 2020 season at Spendthrift Farm for $15,000 LFSN.
