Black Type Winner and Graded Stakes Placed Sweetontheladies standing at Pleasant Acres Stallions

Morriston, Florida USA – October 10, 2020 – Pleasant Acres Stallions is pleased to announce that black type winner and multiple graded stakes placed Sweetontheladies will stand in Florida for the 2021 breeding season with a $2,500 fee. With 31 starts, Sweetontheladies finished in the top four in 21 races, including 5 Graded and 8 Black Type, with career earnings of $408,012.

Sweetontheladies is the only Twirling Candy stallion in Florida, which gives breeders the opportunity to expand the Candy Ride bloodline in our state,” said Joe Barbazon, owner of Pleasant Acres Stallions.

Sweetontheladies is by track record setting, G1W Twirling Candy, out of BTP Whataclassybroad, by Yankee Gentleman. Twirling Candy stands at Lane’s End for $40,000 and was the #1 fifth-crop sire by Gr. 1 horses in 2019. He has sired 19 black-type winners and graded winners on both turf and dirt and in 2019 his yearlings sold up to $950,000 with 2-year-old sales up to $850,000. His 2019 average of $105,194 from 36 horses sold, marked a significant 151.91 percent increase from 2018. His sire – Candy Ride – is a perennial leading general sire of six Champions, who stands at Lane’s End for $100,000. Candy Ride currently has 16 lifetime G1Ws, with 2019 yearling sales to $1,000,000.

In 2016, Sweetontheladies began his career winning his Maiden Special Weight in his first raceat Gulfstream Park. He also won the Juvenile Sprint S. Black Type that same year. In 2017, he won the Crystal River Handicap and placed second in the Black Type Millions Sprint Preview Stakes. The next year, Sweetontheladies placed second in the Gr. 3 Gulfstream Park Spring Stakes and the Gr. 3 Smile Sprint Stakes.

He was third in the Black Type Sunshine Millions Sprint Stakes, the Gr. 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap, and the Gr. 3 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes. In 2019, Sweetontheladies placed second in the Black Type Pelican Stakes and was third in the Black Type Sunshine Millions Sprint Stakes, as well as the Gr. 2 Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes.

Throughout his career, Sweetontheladies ran in good company.  He beat GSW and BTW Mr. Jordan – by Kantharos – in both the Gr. 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes and the Gr. 3 Smile Sprint Stakes. Sweetontheladies also beat X Y Jet – by Kantharos – in the Black Type Sunshine Millions Sprint Stakes. In the Black Type Pelican Stakes, Sweetontheladies won against millionaire MGSW Imperial Hint.

Owned by the Four Horsemen Racing Stables, Inc. and Lady Lindsay Racing Stable, Sweetontheladies will join stallions Amira’s Prince, Bucchero, Handsome Mike, Long On Value, Neolithic, Ride On Curlin, and Treasure Beach at the 220-acre farm located just northwest of Ocala. Pleasant Acres Stallions has received many accolades for excellence, including 2017 Florida Freshman Sire of the Year for Poseidon’s Warrior, 2017 DRF Florida-bred Beyer Award, 2009 Florida Breeder of the Year, 2009 Florida Broodmare of the Year, Breeder of the 2009 Florida Horse of the Year, and was ranked third in the nation for leading breeders in 2009 by average earnings per starter with 10 or more starters.
