America’s Day at the Races to broadcast live racing action from Belmont Park and Churchill Downs

ELMONT, N.Y. – America’s Day at the Races, the acclaimed national telecast produced by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) in partnership with FOX Sports, will air 20 hours of coverage Thursday through Sunday, with stakes action from Belmont Park and Churchill Downs.

Presented by America’s Best Racing and Claiborne Farm, America’s Day at the Races will broadcast live racing action this week highlighted by Saturday’s 11-race card featuring the seventh running of the Grade 3, $100,000 Soaring Softly for 3-year-old fillies going seven furlongs on the Widener turf course at Belmont and the Grade 3, $150,000 Louisville for 4-year-olds and up going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Churchill.

On Saturday at Belmont Park, No Ordinary Time, trained by Hall of Famer Shug McGaughey, will make her stakes debut in the Grade 3 Soaring Softly in Race 10 at 5:52 p.m. after breaking her maiden at fourth asking last out in March at Gulfstream Park.

The Frosted mare, a $600,000 purchase at the 2019 Keeneland September Sale, is 1-1-1 in four career starts. Also in the field is two-time stakes-winner Tobys Heart, who captured the 2020 Bolton Landing at Saratoga Race Course and last out won the Limestone Turf Sprint on April 9 at Keeneland for trainer Brian Lynch.

Churchill Downs, located in Louisville, Kentucky, will have an 11-race card, headlined by the Grade 3, $150,000 Louisville at 5:58 p.m. Arklow, who ran second in last year’s edition of the Louisville for trainer Brad Cox, will be making his 7-year-old debut in his first start since winning the Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup in November at Del Mar. Red Knight, conditioned by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, was sixth in the Grade 2 Elkhorn last out in April at Keeneland, making his first start since ending 2020 with a win in the Grade 3 Sycamore in October at the same track and running second in the Grade 3 Red Smith in November at Aqueduct.

America’s Day at the Races is also broadcast on NYRA’s YouTube channel which boasts more than 70,000 subscribers.
