Hialeah, FL / December 16, 2019 – The Florida-based firm Altitude International, Inc. (www.altitude-internationalcom), a leading-edge technology corporation specializing in simulated altitude training for human and equine athletes, will sponsor the National Horseplayers Championship qualifying tournament in the Champions Simulcast Center & Sports Bar at Hialeah Park on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
“We’re thrilled to be part of this historical first at Hialeah Park,” said Altitude International, Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Kanuth. “The Champions Simulcast Center & Sports Bar is the perfect location for a national-level handicapping tournament! I look forward to meeting the players and sharing the work we are doing at Altitude International.
Kanuth and his wife, Hall of Fame sportscaster Lesley Visser, were appointed to the Altitude International, Inc. executive team in early 2019, with Visser assuming responsibilities as Chief Communications Officer.
“The results of study after study attest to major improvement in equine athletic performance for horses stabled and trained in simulated altitude settings,” added Kanuth. “The one-time Kentucky Derby contender Hansen, who came out of the 2012 Triple Crown series with a low red blood cell count, received simulated altitude treatment and bounced back to win the Iowa Derby that year.”
“We believe the time is right for this cutting edge technology to be a part of the regular regimen for Thoroughbred race horses across America,” Kanuth said. “Results from overseas prove that equine athletes in flat racing, harness racing, polo, and show jumping can all benefit from simulated altitude training.”
Both Robert Kanuth and Lesley Visser will be in attendance on Sunday, January 12, 2020 when, for the first time in the long and storied history of this iconic South Florida landmark, Hialeah Park hosts a qualifying tournament for the National Horseplayers Championship finals in Las Vegas.
Registration is now open for the NHC qualifier and handicappers can purchase their entries in the qualifying tournament by visiting the Hialeah Park web site at www.hialeahpark.com or by calling (305) 758-8681.
