TAIBA & MESSIER, ONE-TWO FINISHERS IN RUNHAPPY SANTA ANITA DERBY, HAVE BIG CHANCES
ARCADIA, Calif.—With Taiba and Messier, one-two finishers in the Grade I Runhappy Santa Anita Derby commanding considerable attention among an outstanding Kentucky Derby field of 20, Santa Anita Park will enthusiastically play host to a full menu of Derby Day activities on Saturday, with admission gates opening early at 7:15 a.m. in order to accommodate simulcast wagering on a tremendous undercard from Churchill Downs.
Post time for the Kentucky Derby is 3:57 PT and first live race post time on a 10-race card at Santa Anita is set for 12:30 p.m.

With seven out of the last 10 first place finishers of the Kentucky Derby, dating back to the Doug O’Neill-trained I’ll Have Another in 2012, all based in Southern California, if either Taiba or Messier win on Saturday, that would mark the 20th horse to use the Runhappy Santa Anita Derby as a springboard to victory at Churchill Downs.
