Friday’s Gulfstream 2 Dollar Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $2 Million, Nine-Race Program Also Marks Return of National Stronach 5 $100,000 Guaranteed Pool

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – After going unsolved for the 15th consecutive racing day Wednesday, the 20-cent Rainbow 6 will have its jackpot pool guaranteed at $2 million when live racing returns to Gulfstream Park with a nine-race program Friday, June 5.

There will also be a Super Hi 5 carryover of $3,285.17.

The Rainbow 6 was last cashed for a $31,476.56 mandatory payout May 9. Multiple tickets with five winners Wednesday were each worth $1,856.80.

In the Rainbow 6, the carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence opens in Race 4, a maiden special weight for 3-year-olds and up sprinting five furlongs on the grass. Morris Bailey’s Troubled Affair, a first-time starter by Munnings, is the 5-2 program favorite on the turf while Sagamore Mischief, one of two horses entered for main track only, is 2-1 to graduate in his ninth try if the race is moved to the dirt.

Doubledown Stables Inc.’s Azrael, running first time for trainer Larry Rivelli, is favored at 8-5 on the morning line in Race 6, an entry-level optional claiming allowance for Florida-bred 3-year-olds and up scheduled for a mile on the grass. Another optional claiming allowance for horses 3 and older, this one going five furlongs on turf, drew a field of nine in Race 8.
