Pick 6 Double Carryover At Santa Anita

Santa Anita Press Box

ARCADIA, Calif. — For the second consecutive day, there were no winning tickets in the $2 Pick Six at Santa Anita triggering a double carryover of $218,963 for Sunday’s 10-race card at The Great Race Place. Track officials estimate the pool will exceed $1.25 million.

The two-day carryover was clinched in Friday’s 10th and final race when John Shirreffs-trained Misleading, who drew in off the also-eligible list, scored under Hector Berrios and paid $23. There were two winning favorites in the sequence. The first of those, Big Celebration, paid $4 when winning the fifth race under Adrian Escobedo for trainer Luis Mendez. Then Roy Hobbs, trained by Jorge Maravilla and ridden by Hugo Herrera, scored as the favorite in the seventh race and paid $6.20.

The consolation payout Saturday for tickets with 5-of-6 winners was $7,646,20.

The winning horses in Saturday’s Pick Six beginning with the fourth race were #7 Big Celebration ($4), #4 Boss Sully ($13.20), #1 Roy Hobbs ($6.20), #1 Lady Claypoole ($25.40), #6 Hornsby ($39.40) and #13 Misleading ($23).

First post Sunday is 1 p.m. PT and the Pick Six starts with the fifth race at approximately 3:08 p.m PT. Also on Sunday, there is a Super High 5 carryover of $16,974 for the 10th and final race.
