Win and You’re In Sunday results from Curragh and big race implications from Paris Longchamp

September 13, 2020

Sunday had Breeder’s Cup implications in both Ireland and France with ‘Win and You’re In” races in both countries.

While Magical, Champers Elysees, and Cadillac secured Breeders’ Cup spots on Saturday, Sunday promised and delivered to add to this year’s event with additional runners earning their ways in.

Glass Slippers took the Derrinstown Stud Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh to earn a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint for Bearstone Stud, trainer Kevin Ryan with Tom Eaves up for the ride.

Shale turned the tables on Pretty Gorgeous as Donnacha O’ Brien beats brother Joseph O’ Brien in the Group 1 Morgayle Stud Stakes under Ryan Moore. The win earned her a spot on the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.

In other races Thunder Moon took the Group 1 Vincent O’ Brien at he Curragh for Joseph O’ Brien. Master of the Seas made a big early move for Godolphin under William Buick but could not sustain it.

Anthony Van Dyck went Gate to Wire to beat a dead game Stradivarius in the Qatar Foy at Paris Longchamp. Stradivarius kept coming like the true stayer he is at a distance likely shorter than he prefers. One would have to think this race is a perfect set up for an Arc try.

Tarnawa took the Qatar Prix Vermeille at Paris Longchamp.

Highland Reel’s half brother Mogul exploded to win the Juddmonte Paris at Longchamp and the Arc could be next for him.
