Ed was raised in Kensington, Md, a suburb just outside Washington DC. From a young age he fell in love with horses, riding them on farms in Maryland, Virginia and his families farms in the Northwest mountains of Spain, where he spent most of his summers.
Ed went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from Elon College (University) in North Carolina with a dual major in Finance and Spanish. After working in the Hospitality industry, Ed became a Golf Professional and Ultimately moved to Miami, Fl as the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf at Doral Country Club.
Ed has also been involved in horse racing as a handicapper, owner and media personality for more than 35 years, and been with Past The Wire for over 5 years, writing articles, interviewing guests, and covering the top racing meets. Ed has also been instrumental in bringing on board marketing and advertising partners.
