The graveyard of favorites claimed yet another when 2-5 Songbird was run down by second choice 2-1 Forever Unbridled in what proved to be an exciting edition of the 2017 Personal Ensign Stakes.
Songbird under regular rider Mike Smith set reasonable fractions and was uncontested until Forever Unbridled set her sights on her and was kept in the middle of the track by Joel Rosario. Songbird tried in vain to fight back late but did run a courageous race.
