ARCADIA, CA —The $100,000 Siren Lure Stakes for older horses going six furlongs on turf Sunday at Santa Anita attracted an overflow field of 11 that includes the return of graded-stakes winner Artislas and the formidable duo of Unconquerable Keen and Sorrento Sky for trainer Phil D’Amato. A maximum of 10 horses will run in the Siren Lure.

Artislas, trained by Jeff Mullins, hasn’t started since August when he was third, beaten just three-quarters of a length in the La Jolla Handicap at Del Mar. In 2025, the now 4-year-old colt by Catalina Cruiser won both the GIII Del Mar Juvenile Turf and Eddie Logan at Santa Anita. He was also disqualified from victory in the GIII Zuma Beach due to bumping near the wire.

Artislas is owned by Dutch Girl Holdings and Irving Ventures. He’ll have the services of jockey Juan Hernandez.

Unconquerable Keen is set to make his first start since Jan. 24 at Gulfstream Park when he did not finish after an incident in the stretch. Running in the Turf Sprint on Pegasus World Cup day at Gulfstream, Unconquerable Keen clipped heels in the stretch and unseated rider Umberto Rispoli. He returned to the work tab in mid-March and has worked eight times in the interim. Unconquerable Keen is a three-time stakes winner for owners CYBT, Omar Aldabbagh and Michael Nentwig. The 7-year-old gelding by Clodovil will have Kazushi Kimura in the irons for the first time.

Sorrento Sky has placed multiple times in graded stakes but is still seeking a first stakes victory. A 5-year-old Irish-bred horse by Prince of Lir, Sorrento Sky most recently finished fourth in the GIII San Simeon sprinting on the hillside turf course on March 15. He shares a similar ownership group as Unconquerable Keen. Set to ride Sorrento Sky is Antonio Fresu, who last year guided him to victory in a high-level allowance sprinting on turf at Santa Anita.

Friendly Confines makes his 4-year-old debut for trainer Richard Baltas. When last seen on opening day of the Santa Anita Classic Meet on Dec. 28, in the GII Mathis Mile on turf, Friendly Confines was an encouraging fourth, beaten just 1 ½ lengths. He is owned by Richard Baltas, his wife Debby Baltas, John Ford Racing Inc. and Vivian Li. Jockey Tiago Pereira has the call on Friendly Confines.

Thank you, Jon!! Great stuff as usual.
