McCracken was popular in the advance Kentucky Derby future wagering this weekend. He closed at about 5-1 which may not be far off his odds come the first Saturday in May.
I am not really a fan of the Kentucky Derby future wagering primarily because the odds offered are usually lower than I would want on a horse I don’t even know is in the race. Further, if you can’t find value on Derby day, I don’t know where you can.
That said, American Anthem seemed awfully attractive at 15 or 16-1. I didn’t bite, but that seemed a sharp play to me.
