Irad Ortiz Jr. is joining his brother Jose at Gulfstream Park for the winter. Irad originally planned to ride at Aqueduct but the cold weather and recent cancellations apparently caused a change of heart.

It makes sense to me for Irad to ride the winter at Gulfstream as I would think he has a better chance of landing a serious Kentucky Derby horse there as opposed to Aqueduct. It is a pretty solid bet Irad will pull a lot of business from the regular Florida riders and have a strong winter.

@jonathanstettin  Morning Jonathan, I just read your Piece on its not a Santa Anita thing IT WAS OUTSTANDING. I have been playing horses for 42 yrs since my father 1st brought me to Washington Park. I could not agree with you more. There must be 1 governing board and a commissioner.
