Jose Ortiz has established himself as one of the best and most talented riders in the country. When that happens you get sought after for the biggest races and on the biggest stages.

I imagine agent Jimmy Riccio, who has and continues to do a great job has a busy cell phone. It recently rang and it was Jimmy Jerkens reaching out to tab Jose Ortiz for Shaman Ghost in the inaugural Pegasus.

Shaman Ghost is a horse still on the improve, and improving horses are always dangerous. he is also the “house” horse being owned by Gulfstream Owner Frank Stronach’s Arena Springs.
