Gun Runner drew post 10 for the 2018 Pegasus World Cup. While post position is usually important in 1 1/8th mile races at Gulfstream Park, with the outside slots at a disadvantage with the short run to the first turn, I don’t think the 10 hole hurts the horse this year.
The way the entire draw and early pace looks, Gun Runner should be able to save at east some ground going into the turn and wind up in a stalking position.
As long as nobody gets creative and floats him and Florent Geroux wide, the post should not be the deciding factor.
