The Game of Silks continues to grow and just seems better and more exciting every week! If you are not already a part of this exciting, fantasy sports game based on the real world of thoroughbred horse racing, it is definitely time that you check it out at www.silks.io – trust me, you’ll be glad that you did.
It was another fantastic week for all involved with Silks starting off with the Game of Silks Race of the Week on Wednesday – Race 1 at Saratoga. This affair was run on the dirt at the distance of a mile and wow, we witnessed a fine showing by a filly in her second outing – Bernietakescharge. She and jockey Katie Davis took the lead shortly after the gates spung open, battled on the lead for much of the race before cutting the last corner at the head of the stretch while hugging the rail and then she pulled away to score by 8 ½ easy lengths in the end. Some how she was let off at odds of 8/1 by the betting public and she paid $18.00 for a $2 win ticket. This gal was available in the pre-race auction at the Game of Silks and she would certainly be a tremendous addition for any owner in Silks.
There certainly were many other thrilling races that involved Game of Silks’ owned horses this past week and I have detailed many of those for you below that had a purse of $50,000 or more. Additionally, there was a large number of awards in addition to what I show on my chart. In looking at the list, you’ll see that three Silks’ owners had two wins at this $50,000+ purse level – CLCStables, BSSilks Stables and Alpha Racing. Since one of CLC Stables’ victories came in the $150,000 Skidmore Stakes at Saratoga, I am awarding my coveted Game of Silks Owner of the Week to CLCStables.
