Friday’s Rainbow 6 Jackpot Pool Guaranteed at $350,000

January 21, 2022

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 gross jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $350,000 Friday at Gulfstream Park, where the popular multi-race wager has gone unsolved for five racing days in a row.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10, kicked off by a well-stocked 1 1/16-mile optional allowance for older fillies and mares on turf in Race 5. Bell Tower Thoroughbreds’ Havana Love, who was twice stakes-placed in Italy, is scheduled to make her U.S. debut in an eight-horse field. Julien Leparoux is slated to ride the Brendan Walsh trained daughter of Kodiac. Don Alberto Stable’s Ingrassia, a graded stakes-placed stakes winner trained by Chad Brown, is scheduled to return off an eight-month layoff in Friday’s Race 5 feature.

In Race 9, a mile-and-70-yard optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds on Tapeta, Walsh-trained Sunstrike is scheduled to make his second start in the U.S. after finishing an even sixth in the Dec. 3 Wait a While Stakes on turf. Qatar Racing’s Irish-bred son of Dark Angel will be ridden by Tyler Gaffalione.

Multiple winning tickets on Thursday’s Rainbow 6 returned $8,224.48.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot is paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Who’s Hot: Hall of Famer Javier Castellano won both ends of the early double, scoring aboard Freccia d’Argento ($8.60) in Race 1 and Lord of Legends ($4.60) in Race 2.

Junior Alvarado and Angel Arroyo also doubled. Alvarado won aboard Our Country ($12.40) in Race 5 and Dr. Shane ($17.40) in Race 9. Arroyo tallied aboard Rebelde ($10.40) in Race 4 and Dial to Win ($7.20) in Race 7.
