LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 8, 2021) – Breeders’ Cup, one of Thoroughbred racing’s most prestigious international events, today unveiled its official logo for the 2022 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, and Saturday, Nov. 5, at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky. The 2022 event will mark the third time that Keeneland will host the World Championships, having been a prior host in 2015 and 2020.

The new, elegant logo design includes iconic visual aspects from both the Breeders’ Cup and Keeneland brands in honor of the 39th running of the World Championships. Both brands are featured in the center of the circular design with the Breeders’ Cup logo atop Keeneland’s historic sycamore tree, which greets all racing contenders as they make their walk from the saddling paddock to the walking ring.

“As Keeneland is one of the most famed race courses in the world, we’re honored to return there for the third time to host the 2022 World Championships following an unprecedented, but exceptional, Breeders’ Cup in 2020 during the pandemic,” said Drew Fleming, President and CEO of Breeders’ Cup. “The 2022 logo visually unites both brands and reflects the vibrant and enduring history that is rooted at Keeneland along with the excitement and prestige of the Breeders’ Cup.”

The 2022 mark is enhanced by a regal typeface that reflects the Breeders’ Cup’s position as the pinnacle of global Thoroughbred horse racing. The words “World Championships” encompass the upper half of the logo, while “Keeneland” is branded in gold across the bottom of the logo. The vibrant image features Breeders’ Cup’s signature purple and gold colors, with Keeneland’s traditional green highlighting the tree and grass. A touch of white is used to accentuate the Breeders’ Cup logo and the trunk of the Keeneland tree.
