Batista Taken To Monmouth Medical Center For X-Rays

Following Spill In Friday’s Sixth Race At Monmouth Park

OCEANPORT, N.J. – Jockey Jose Batista was taken by ambulance to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch for X-rays after being unseated from his mount in Monmouth Park’s sixth race on Friday, with the veteran rider complaining of knee pain, according to Dr. Angelo Chinnici, the track’s Medical Director.

Batista went down after his horse, Sip’ n Dip, hit the inside rail of the turf course in the early stages of mile and a sixteenth race.

Batista has eight wins from 77 mounts at the current Monmouth Park meeting. He has 41 winners from 297 mounts on the year.
