Back to Ohio much the best in BOH Miss Ohio

Patricia’s Hope LLC”s Back to Ohio handily won the $100,000 Best of Ohio Miss Ohio Stakes at Thistledown on Saturday in a field of eight two-year-old fillies. 

Ridden by Jereth Loveberry, the saucy daughter of Mishipman broke off the pace with Lady Jasper, Jeffrey Sanchez in the irons, as they followed the pacesetter Lady Lottie, Yarmarie Corea up through a first quarter of 21.88. Twenty Four Karat with Julio Felix aboard was stalking the pace.

The Larry Rivelli trainee past Twenty Four Karat to challenge Lady Lottie at the half mile and when they hit the straight there was no turning back for Back to Ohio as she surged to a 5 1/2 length victory.

Lady Lottie got place while Sparkling Jewel ridden by Pablo Morales rallied to take third. Serger, Lady Jasper, Twenty Four Karat, Emerson Jones and Ruby Lane complete the order of finish.

Back to Ohio paid $3.80, 2.10 and 2.10 for the win, Lady Lottie paid $2.20 for place and 2.10 while Sparkling Jewel paid $5.40 for show. 

Bred in Ohio by Trail M Boarding & Guest Farm, Back to Ohio is out of Pride of Burkaan mare Saez a Runaway Star. 

After winning her debut, the bay filly placed second in the Jim Morgan Memorial Tah Dah Stakes at Belterra Park.

With a record of three start with two wins and one second, Back to Ohio has career earnings of $94,200.

Rivelli also won a Starter Option Claiming race at Woodbine with P H Factor on Sunday. Rivelli has eight Grade 3 stakes on his resume: the 2021 Arlington Stakes with Bizzee Channel; 2020 Whimsical Stakes and 2019 Ontario Fashion Stakes both with Jean Elizabeth; 2017 Iroquios Stakes with The Tabularor; 2016 Arlingtons-Washington Futurity with Wellabled; 2015 Iroquois with Cocked and Loaded; 2010 Old Hat Stakes with Richiegirlgonewild; and, the 2008 Hawthorne Derby with Straight of Mewsine (IRE).
