Jockey Norberto Arroyo Jr., riding as good as anyone in the country right now, and top trainer Peter Miller who is always dangerous, took both stakes at Santa Anita yesterday.
Arroyo and Miller teamed up to take The Kalookan Queen with Bad Ju Ju for owners Rockingham Ranch. They came back two races later to take The Eddie Logan with Vending Machine who Miller had claimed at Del Mar for $40,000 in September. Both wins were helped by heady rides by Norberto coming from last on Bad Ju Ju and tracking the speed while sitting in the pocket aboard Vending Machine.
Norberto Arroyo and Peter Miller have been a formidable combination since Norberto launched his comeback on the Southern California circuit. It’s a safe bet there are more wins and stake wins together for these two.
