West Coast Wins Again, Goes to Head of the Class

West Coast solidified his position as the top three year old despite not running in any Triple Crown races with a convincing win in the $1 million dollar Pennsylvania Derby. This followed an equaling impressive score in the Travers.

Absent another three year old winning the Breeders’ Cup Classic the Bob Baffert trainee looks to have it locked up. Runner up Irap lugged in through the stretch, was vanned off, and will need surgery. Oscar Performance who is strictly a turf horse, at least to date, looks to be the only challenge to West Coast as top three year old. That scenario is unlikely.
