In response to the recent ruling by Gulfstream Park regarding trainer Peter Walder and four other trainers, which can be read HERE, Walder issued the following statement through his attorney Bill Gottimer.
““I respect what Gulfstream Park is attempting to do to assure clean racing and willingly afforded NYRA that same respect by scratching my horses entered to run during the same time period.
While I would have appreciated the opportunity to be heard prior to Gulfstream’s action (especially since the horse in question was newly in my care) for the good of the sport and the good of my owners I fully abided by the action taken by Gulfstream.
The 10 day time period imposed by Gulfstream has now fully run and I have horses entered in Florida and will be entering in New York later this week.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my clients in Florida and New York, for their passion for racing, and importantly their loyalty and understanding during this time.”
