33-year-old European jockey Tom Queally has made a big move with his tack heading to Golden Gate Fields in San Francisco California.
Queally is best known as the regular rider of Frankel, and he piloted that star in all 14 of his starts including 10 Grade 1’s.
No knock on Golden Gate or Northern Cali racing, but I’d have expected Queally to wind up in Southern Cal, or even New York or Kentucky before where he actually landed. Maybe he just wants to take the temperature of US racing.
