LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Six months in advance of Kentucky Derby 152, the pari-mutuel field of “All Other Colts and Geldings” closed as the 6-5 favorite in Pool 1 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager (KDFW) and Hopeful (Grade I) and Breeders’ Futurity (GI) winner Ted Noffey, who runs in Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (GI), was the 10-1 second choice.

Other horses who attracted mild interest from bettors were Del Mar Futurity (GI) winner and Juvenile entrant Brant (14-1); Breeders’ Futurity runner-up Blackout Time (20-1); and 20-length Keeneland maiden winner Further Ado (21-1).

The pool closed Friday at 6 p.m. (all times Eastern) and post time for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Del Mar was 7:45 p.m.

Total handle for the Oct. 29-31 KDFW pool – the first of six scheduled wagering pools in advance of the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (GI) on Saturday, May 2 – was an early November record $184,492 ($143,448 in the Win pool and $41,044 in Exactas), a 5.6% increase from last year’s $174,785 ($138,536 in the Win pool and $36,249 in Exactas).

Other Future Wager dates are set for Nov. 27-30 (Pool 2); Jan. 16-18 (Pool 3); Feb. 13-15 (Pool 4); March 13-15 (Pool 5) and April 2-4 (Pool 6). Pool 2 also will feature the Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager, while Pool 5 will include the Longines Kentucky Oaks Future Wager.
