Michael Vale is a racing fan from Chicago who wasn’t introduced to the sport until later in life. No one in his immediate family was into racing, although he has been able to convert them. He was introduced to The Sport of Kings by going to the Kentucky Derby infield with his Louisville college friends. From that day forward he was hooked.
Michael has a background in chemical engineering, but his passion lies in the worlds of horseplayers and sports bettors. Before joining Past The Wire, he wrote a college football betting column for a small Chicago website. Now, Michael co-hosts Past The Wire’s podcast Gate To Wire, and some of our Past The Wire TV shows with the one and only Jonathan Stettin.
