Franck Mourier brings a rare combination of hands-on horsemanship, wagering knowledge and international racing experience to Past the Wire. He trained Thoroughbreds for 25 years across 16 different racing jurisdictions before working as an odds compiler and, since 2015, as a bloodstock advisor based in England.
That background gives Franck a perspective that crosses several sides of the game—from training and evaluating horses to bloodstock, wagering and the analytical process behind handicapping.
His work for Past the Wire earned international recognition in 2020 when he was runner-up for Specialist Writer of the Year from the Horserace Writers & Photographers Association/Sky Sports Racing for his Past the Wire article, Decision-Making at the Racetrack: Handicapping Using the Right Side of the Brain.
