WILMINGTON, Del.—Heider Family Stables’ Sigh No More tops a field of ten entered in the $150,000 Christiana Stakes this Saturday. The mile and eighth turf affair for 3-year-old fillies has been carded as the seventh race with an approximate post time of 4:13 pm.
In her most recent, the daughter of Starspangledbanner ran fifth in the mile and an eighth $250,000 Old Dominion Oaks on the Colonial Downs turf on September 6. Previously, the Ireland-bred trained by Brendan Walsh ran sixth in the mile and three sixteenths $500,000 Grade II Saratoga Oaks Invitational on August 9. On June 29, she posted a 1 ½-length triumph in mile and a sixteenth $102,000 Boiling Springs over the Monmouth Park grass on June 29. She has a career record of four wins from eleven starts with earnings of $159,335.
Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Bobby Flay’s Pretty Lavish should move forward off her most recent effort when she ran fourth in the mile and an eighth $250,000 Old Dominion Oaks on the Colonial Downs turf on September 6. Previously, the daughter of Ribchester ran sixth in the one mile $150,000 Ontario Cotillion on the Woodbine turf course on July 26. The Ireland-bred trained by H. Graham Motion has a career record of two wins and two seconds from seven starts with earnings of $95,911.
“She ran three weeks ago at Colonial and in a perfect world, I guess you wish we could have another week, but since she came out of that race well and she is doing great, we thought we should take this opportunity to run in a stake against fillies her own age,” said trainer H. Graham Motion, who has four career wins in the Christiana Stakes. “Her form as been a little in and out, but if she can run back to her last race and improve a little bit, she will be competitive.”

Mitre Box Stable, Clear Stars Stable and Eighth Note Stable’s Sunday Girl will look be seeking to return to her winning ways she meets five rivals in the $150,000 Endine Stakes this Saturday. The six-furlong affair for fillies and mares has been carded as the eighth race with an approximate post time of 4:46 pm.
Sunday Girl has notched seven wins from ten career starts. In her most recent she finished seventh in the five and a half furlong on the grass $150,000 Smart Fancy Stakes at Saratoga on August 15. Previously, the 4-year-old daughter of Central Banker won the six furlongs on the grass New York-bred restricted John Hettinger Stakes at Belmont at Aqueduct on June 29. On Macch 2, the David Duggan trainee won the six furlongs on the dirt Correction Stakes at Aqueduct. She has $465,988 in career earnings.

Geometry Tops Kent Stakes This Saturday
Augustin Stable’s Geometry tops a field of twelve in the $150,000 Kent Stakes this Saturday. The mile and an eighth turf affair for 3-year-olds has been carded as the ninth race with an approximate post time of 5:19 pm.
Geometry finished fourth in his most recent effort in the one mile and an eighth $300,000 Grade II Del Mar Derby on the grass on August 31. Previously, the son of Twirling Candy won a one-mile turf allowance by a half-length at Del Mar on August 10. The Kentucky-bred trained by Jonathan Thomas has a career record of two wins from four starts with earnings of $131,150.
Jaques DuPuis Jr., Luke Bourque and Bobby Sutton’s Soleil Volant will be returning to the course where he broke his maiden when he posted a 1 ¼-length score going seven-and-a-half-furlongs last year at Delaware Park. Since then, the Kentucky-bred trained by H. Graham Motion has been knocking on the door against tough competition but has yet to notch his second career victory. In his most recent, he ran fourth in the mile and an eighth $500,000 Grade III Old Dominion Derby on the Colonial Downs turf course on September 6. He has a lifetime record of a win, two seconds and two thirds from 11 starts with earnings of $103,976.
“He finished fourth in the Old Dominion Derby to maybe the best 3-year-old grass horse in the country (World Beater),” said trainer H. Graham Motion. “He (Soleil Volant) is doing very well. If he can run back to his last race, which I think is an indication he is returning to the form he had earlier this summer, he will be very competitive. I really like the mile and an eighth for him. He needs the distance.”

Delaware Park will introduce Starter Bonus effective October 1st
Beginning on October 1st, Delaware Park will introduce a starter bonus for the remainder of the 2025 meet, which is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, October 18th.
The starter bonus will be as follows; horses stabled at Delaware Park that start in fields of eight or more on the dirt and ten or more on the turf will receive $1,200 of which the trainer will receive $1,000 and the owner will receive $200. For horses not stabled at Delaware Park that start in fields of eight or more on the dirt and ten or more on the turf will receive $700 of which the trainer will receive $500, and the owner will receive $200. Horses that start in fields of less than eight on the dirt or ten on the turf, the bonus will be $500, of which the trainer will receive $300, and the owner will receive $200 regardless of where they are stabled.
