One qualifier per week, for 52 weeks, can I qualify for my first BCBC in 2026?
Kevin Gazzale
In 2020, I became a more avid horse racing fan. It culminated with the 2020 Breeders’ Cup, really it was the first time I watched and bet the event. I quickly became interested in the BCBC, obviously unable to afford the $10,000 entry fee at the time I became determined to qualify for the 2021 edition through the low level feeders on Horseplayers.com. I began playing the $20 feeders during the week with the hope of qualifying for the direct qualifiers on the weekend.
In 2021, I struck out, I made the weekend qualifiers but never really got close. In 2022, I was desperately close in February, I finished just outside of qualifying after getting nailed at the wire in the final race at Santa Anita. I need the 9 to win the replay below.
In 2023, 24, and 25 I did not get close. However, I am determined to buck the trend.
Over the next year I invite you on the journey of following me go from a $20 qualifier to a full paid $10,000 entry to the 2026 BCBC. I will be entering the $20 BCBC Feeder Qualifier at a track of my choice (typically NYRA or Santa Anita). If I fail to qualify for the weekend tournament feeder then I try again the following Friday. I will continue this weekly until I have qualified. This Friday I will start my journey, I will update each Thursday night with my selections and philosophy behind my picks. If I am able to advance to a Saturday Qualifier I will post that morning with my picks, why, and journal my progress.
I’m exciting and looking forward to the next year, hopefully it doesn’t take the whole year (it will). See you Thursday night!
