Alright, this has gone on long enough. Santa Anita is back in action finally under clear sunny skies and I’m ready to jump back into qualifiers. I have lost track of the weeks and my record. I skipped last week as Santa Anita kept cancelling. So this week I will be doing today, and if I do not move on I will be going again Friday. Last time on Opening Day at Santa Anita I managed to hit all my big priced winners in the races before the actually tournament started. This time around I’m well refreshed and ready to crush these races. Santa Anita races 2 through 9, let’s dive in.
Race 2 – 7 Resemblance has started to round into form this past fall, he’s only 5 years old so he still has a chance to improve versus some much older horses in here.
Race 3 – 1 Brigante, lone speed in here draws the rail so you know he’s going to the front. Good works, well spaced. 2 back he hit the front and didn’t look back, maybe he doesn’t it again today at a huge price.
Race 4 – 3 Lady Detective is well bred and should be a decent price going against 2 Bafferts. She has great spaced, fast works.
Race 5 – 8 Young Love may sit the trip in this race coming from the outside with looks like a lot of speed signed on. 10/1 I’ll take it.
Race 6 – 10 Red Hot, not much form in here. Luis Mendez almost always has horses ready to run, good works, I’ll lean there.
Race 7 – 1 Public Assembly, towers over this field in current class. Another race I think there is not going to be much of a pace so you’ll want to be sitting closer.
Race 8 – 8 Del Mar Jerry has been working like a mad man after a few months freshening. He was really rounding into form at the end of his 5YO season. Let’s see if he just blitzes this field.
Race 9 – 4 Midway Lane, this horse is trying grsss for the first time. His predigree suggests he will like it. His debut on dirt wasn’t horrible, I do think he may take to the turf and fly from there.
