Road to the 2026 BCBC: Selection Sunday Edition

March 15, 2026

There’s no better time than now!

Kevin Gazzale

I’m back for a special Selection Sunday edition of a BCBC qualifier. We head out west again to Santa Anita for a double order of some onions to get us into Saturday’s qualifier. At some point my luck needs to turn around! Ok, now onto the selections.

Race 2 – 5 Outrageous just looks like the class of the field here. Consistent speed figures that lay over this field. Give me the chalk.

Race 3 – 2 Bright Eye Bungle, some really solid looking maidens in here. 2 from the Damato barn that are making their first American starts. 2 Bafferts that are an auto toss just on percentages. The Glatt horse, Tap the Gin was intriguing but ultimately I went with Fresu and a horse with some starts under his belt.

Race 4 – 4 Contrary Chieftan, short field, this horse towers above. I’ll take the $4-5 and move on.

Race 5 – 4 Crazy Cavalier, has good speed figs and appears to prefer this 8f distance. Jaramillo was hot yesterday so let’s keep it going at 10-1

Race 6 – 1 Magnificat, might be able to sit off the the top 2 favs in here and run them down late after dueling.

Race 7 – 5 Public Assembly ran well in her least turf race going long. She was nailed by Mrs Astor who will be favored in here. She’s also beaten Paradise Lake twice.

Race 8 – 7 Big Miss has the figures to improve and take down this pretty terrible field

Race 9 – 6 Eiffel has the back figures to fit here and she has the late pace advantage in a race with likely a lot of speed.

God Speed and Go Dayton Flyers!
