HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is expected to grow to an estimated $150,000 Friday when the Sunshine Meet continues at Gulfstream Park.

The popular multi-race wager went unsolved Sunday for the sixth racing day following a mandatory payout.

Gulfstream racing fans will also have the chance to watch and wager on the Breeders’ Cup races via simulcasts from Del Mar Friday and Saturday. On Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Future Stars program, trainer Patrick Biancone will saddle local star Lennilu for a start in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1). Lennilu, a three-time stakes winner at Gulfstream who finished third in the Queen Mary (G2) at Royal Ascot, beat the boys in the Hollywood Beach last time out at Gulfstream.

Friday’s first-race post time at Gulfstream is set at 12 noon.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10, headlined by the $75,000 Cellars Shiraz, a 1 1/16-mile turf stakes for 3-year-old fillies, in Race 10. Steve Dwoskin-trained Starship Impulsive, whose four-race winning streak on turf was snapped with a close-up second-place finish on Tapeta in the Ginger Punch Handicap, will take on nine other sophomore fillies in a bid to get back to her winning ways.

The Rainbow 6 carryover pool is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool usually goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory-payout days, the entire Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is paid out to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the wager’s six-race sequence.

Really enjoy the show
