HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot pool is estimated to reach $150,000 when the Sunshine Meet resumes with a nine-race program Friday at Gulfstream Park.
First race post time is 12:50 p.m.
The Rainbow 6 has gone unsolved for six consecutive racing days following multiple mandatory payouts of $206.30 Aug. 24. Another mandatory payout is scheduled for Sunday.
In the Rainbow 6, the jackpot pool is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool. On mandatory payout days, the entire pool is disbursed to the bettor or bettors with the most winners in the popular wager’s six-race sequence.
Friday’s Rainbow 6 spans Races 4-9. The feature comes in Race 6, a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies sprinting six furlongs on the main track. Jackpot Farm’s Canton, a full sister to 2019 Hopeful (G1) winner and 2020 Arkansas Derby (G1) runner-up Basin, looks to rebound after finishing a troubled third as the favorite in her Aug. 15 debut.

Race 7 is a 5 ½-furlong starter allowance on the all-weather Tapeta course that includes last-out winners Denver’s Alley, Bubbles Up, Be Thankful and One of One as well as Free to Roam, first or second in six consecutive starts. An overflow field of 13 was entered in Race 8, an optional claiming allowance for Florida-bred fillies and mares 3 and up going six furlongs led by Carroll’s Honor, a three-length winner in the slop at the distance Aug. 10, and Olga, back in the barn of trainer Carlos David.
Another maiden special weight is scheduled on the grass at five furlongs for 2-year-old fillies in Race 3. Dual Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse is represented by first-time starters Mi Amada, a half to synthetic stakes winner Alydiva, andShe’s Lit.
