Hialeah, FL / December 23, 2019 – Hialeah Park’s Champions Simulcast Center & Sports Bar, opened as “the go-to location” in South Florida for full-card simulcast wagering on Thoroughbred races in early 2016, will celebrate its fourth anniversary in mid-January.
Champions features 180 television screens, 54 betting carrels (each with a 19-inch video monitor), 42 wagering windows, and space for 200 horseplayers complemented by an aggressive menu of simulcast wagering options.
The anniversary will be marked shortly after Champions serves as an ideal venue for the first-ever National Horseplayers Championship qualifying tournament in the long and storied history of Hialeah Park.
The NHC qualifier, offering the winner $5,000 and a seat in either the 2020 or 2021 National Horseplayers Championship tournament in Las Vegas, will be held at Champions, located at 2200 East 4th Avenue in Hialeah, on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
A $300 entry fee for current NHC tour members will cover a $200 live bankroll for wagering on designated races at Gulfstream Park, Aqueduct, and Tampa Bay Downs, and $100 for cash prizes.
A total of $10,000 will be awarded on site at the conclusion of the Hialeah Park qualifier, with $5,000 going to the winner, $2,500 to the runner-up, $1,500 to the third-place finisher, and $1,000 to the fourth-place finisher.
Handicappers can purchase their entries in the qualifying tournament by visiting the Hialeah Park web site at www.hialeahparkcasino.com or by calling (305) 758-8681.
Under rules established by the NHC, participants in the Hialeah Park tourney must be 2019 tour members to earn a seat in the 2020 finals or 2020 tour members to earn a seat in the 2021 finals.
Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, with entrances at 100 East 32nd Street and 2200 East 4th Avenue, is easily accessible from all major Miami highways. The landmark venue is conveniently located just minutes by car from Miami International Airport, South Beach, Downtown Miami, Coral Gables, and Doral.
